Botanical Garden, Baguio City

By the moment you will reach the Botanical Garden of Baguio, you will be welcomed by this work of art sculpture made of cement illustrating the different rituals of the native tribes in the area. Igorots were also more than eager to take a photo with the tourist with a corresponding small fee for posing with them. She gamely posed with a peace sign. So cute, right? Colorful flowers and different types of trees can be found inside the garden which made it a refreshing place to stay. Walking around the place was not a hassle though it was drizzling when... Mines View Park, Baguio City

This was the last destination we visited before we ended our first half adventure in Baguio. If you are hunting to purchase local souvenir items and food delicacies, then this is the best place for you. The park wasn't that big though, but you could find several stalls selling those things you want like to bring home. Colorful pink haired horses for picture taking were also available. If you want to take a photo wearing the ancestral costumes of the locals, you can borrow them with a small fee. Here are some of the food delicacies available. Prices ranged from Php 30.00- Php 200.00. Very affordable, what do... Read More

Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Baguio City

The first destination in our bucket list during our Baguio get-away was to visit the well known Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto to say thank you for the safe trip and to pray for a happy travel ahead. It is best to visit the place early in the morning when it's cooler, for it's going to take a long climb but definitely worth the effort. It's about 250 steps in going up to the statue of the Lady of Lourdes. It's a form of exercise for us to climb up and a way of a religious sacrifice as well. It would really test your endurance... Where To Stay In Baguio (The Blue Room)

One of the booming businesses in Baguio City is converting their residential houses into transient accommodations for travelers. We booked a room through Airbnb website where it offers a lot of choices depending on your budget. If you're traveling as a family, hotels are also available for a convenient stay. For those backpackers like us, if you would like to save, you can opt to rent for a transient room instead. Welcome to our room for two days. The blue room is located in City Camp Central near the Heath Center. Mon had a funny or shall I say self inflicted horror... Read More

A Glimpse Of His Beautiful Past (Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary)

It was a dream come true for me and my husband to visit the place where my spouse spent 4 years of his college time. We planned and booked our airline ticket since last year to spend his birthday in the summer capital of the Philippines, "Baguio City". Aside from exploring the beauty of the scenery, one of our main agenda was to visit Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary. My better half is an ex-seminarian and he used to stay in the seminary for four years before he decided to quit. As they say, "Many are called for the priesthood vocation but... Read More

His Raw Reactions Made Me Feel Special

The hardest part of my typical day is to wake up early in the morning by the moment my alarm rings. I kept on pressing snooze and then snooze again, until I only got 15 minutes left to get myself ready for work. My body still wants to snuggle in between those soft pillows while enjoying the warmth of my blanket. For those who have an early shift for work, you can somehow relate to my sentiments about my struggles every morning. This morning I woke up following the same routine. I had to wake up early again. Phew! I was so pissed in going out of the bed making me released a... Read More

Fascinated With Toys

When I was little every time my parents would ask me on what gift I want to get from them, I always wanted them to purchase me a toy. At my age now, I still have that unexplainable fascination to collect toys and Toy shop is one of my favorite place to relieve stress. I love shopping for stuff toys, collectible cartoon figures, and stickers. They are just so irresistibly adorable. When my toddler came into my life, I had enough and more valid reasons then to continue my addiction to toys for I have someone to play with them finally. Wohoo! Just recently,... Read More

A Beautiful Change (Mountain View Nature’s Park)

As they say that change is inevitable and it's the only permanent thing that will happen in this world. Some changes may give us excitement however a few aren't that welcome to push through. But one thing for sure, changes will definitely bring us to a new situation which will help us grow and shall give us another chapter in our lives to learn more lessons. By the end of July, a major change will take place at work for our new schedules as well as for our respective assignments. This would mean we will have a new manager to report to and reshuffling... Spontaneous Family Fun

One thing that I love about unplanned trip is that there is a higher probability it will push thru compared to those planned family get-away. I don't have the exact rationale on why is that so but I am just basing it in my own experience.  And in line with my stand about unplanned fun time off,  I just had an amazing family unscheduled day off last weekends. Last Saturday, my sister called me to help her decide what printer she may need to purchase for her class. It's a classroom yearly project from the gracious heart of her students' parents contribution. Public schools here normally do this where each students... Read More

Dumaguete Mementos (Souvenir Shopping)

There are a lot of souvenir items that a traveler can find in Dumaguete for an affordable cost. We bought most of our souvenirs in Handuman Souvenir Shop, one of the local stores in the city.  You can check their Facebook Page to inquire more about their low-cost products. Their gift items were way cheaper compared to mall prices. Also, the quality of the merchandise from Handuman Souvenir Shop was undeniably good though it didn't cost that much compared to mall gift items. Let me share to you some of the gift shopping that we did in Dumaguete. This colorful... Read More

Trip to Dumaguete ( The City Tour 2nd Half)

After we roamed around the city for the first half of the day, we opted to eat our lunch first before returning back to the Gazebo Pension House. We visited the Robinson's Place, the largest shopping mall in Dumaguete,Negros Oriental and had our lunch there. We had a quick tour inside the mall and I was so delighted seeing Sans Rival Bistro, one of my top priorities to visit in my bucket list. This restaurant is known for their signature dessert, the famous Silvanas. It would be very hard for someone to resist its tempting sweetness. We wouldn't be able to... Read More
