Akyn’s 5th Birthday

I thought about writing two different posts regarding our Akyn’s birthday and our New Year’s Eve but due to time constraints I’m merging them both. Working momma on the move again! I kind of feel groggy still after my extra shift yesterday. Unlike in the Philippines, nurses usually got only one regular employer to work with. However in here you can work as many as you like until your energy says stop! More opportunities for us to enhance our skills at the same time more funds for shopping. (wink)

So, going back to our main topic about my Akyn’s birthday, did I prepare anything for him? Oh yes! Definitely yes. Every year we do have our chosen theme. On his first birthday we had the Winnie the Pooh and friends, 2nd-a casual attire one, 3rd-Toy Story, 4th-Superman and 5th is the Pirate look. How’s that? Starting the month of November I’ve already ordered from Amazon few sets of Party balloons and a table cover of black and white shade. Bought some mug party favors just to make it feel more like a real party.

E for effort darlings. That’s how a mum should be.

and for this year as a Pirate.

We started waiting for the midnight of December 30 to come. Why? Because we’re just excited to celebrate it.

Akyn: Mommie, I won’t sleep until it’s finally my birthday. Then after 5 minutes, I’ve heard him snoring. LOL.

The moment he woke up his first question was if it’s already his Birthday and If he can open his gifts now. All our Christmas presents remained unopened as it was our tradition to open them during Akyn’s birthday. I know it’s kind of different from the typical practice of everyone.

It wasn’t only our boy who got too thrilled for his big day to come but also us, his parents. Felt like the day when we got so excited to finally see our first born came back to our senses again. The joy of hearing his first cry, first laugh, first touch on his delicate skin were all coming back. I think it’s a mum’s pure joy of what motherhood brings. Forever, I shall be grateful of being a mother.

Did prepare few meals for our little family house party. Thanks to the pandemic, I’ve saved a lot for the event because no gatherings are allowed which include children’s party being banned. Wohoo. We’re already contented anyway as long as the three of us are present to celebrate it with him.

Had ordered my chocolate birthday cake from Ate Pie. Thank you Ate Pie for accommodating our last minute order.

Loads of leftover from the evening dinner saving me from doing another cooking session for our New year’s eve dinner.

For this brand new year of 2021 everybody got the same hope of a better year than 2020. Who knows 2021 might be the year of getting back of what we called as our NORMAL life before. Let’s not loose our faith as He knows our heart’s deepest desire.

Happy New Year all.
