Lowest Form of Wit

As per the famous quote of Oscar Wilde, "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.” I certainly agree with him because you don’t need to exercise a higher analytical thinking of scorning others with the sharpness of your tongue. How do you handle talking to a sarcastic person? Do you find the conversation helpful by any chance? Or do you find it mean and insensitive? I also can’t stand dealing with sarcasm. My system isn’t programmed to withstand those particular brand of humor. I find it hurtful to attack someone just for the purpose of being funny. Either it’s done... Read More

At The Heart Of The City

Because we were invited to my husband’s friend wedding in the city, we decided to book for an overnight stay in one of the nearby hotel. Choosing our accommodation wasn’t that difficult since the wedding reception (Casino Espanyol Cebu) is perfectly near several hotels for us to choose from. Quite satisfied for choosing Summit Circle as our resting place while preparing for the event. For only P2977.00 with free breakfast buffet for two. An additional fee of P250.00 for breakfast if you have an extra person apart from the 2 guests allowed. It was already a good catch for us! Another... Read More

That One True Love

Just after celebrating our own 4th wedding anniversary, here we are attending another joyous celebration of a beautiful union of our friend. Weddings always give me a happy feeling of seeing how couples share their love and vow for a lifetime commitment. I can clearly remember our Priest during our wedding, Father Amores, once said: “When the time comes you both feel you are ready to give up with your marriage, always try to remember this day, your Wedding Day.” ”Reminisce the overwhelming happiness of your love and remember the promise you made today.” He’s right. It was indeed one... Read More

Why I Chose to Marry

10552451_10202166001905704_8946100383123947962_n.jpg
People have different convictions when it comes to getting married or living the single life with no commitment set by the church or by the state law. Others may view Marriage as a MUST before couples can be allowed to live together as part of their cultural creed. While some consider it as another set of worries to get engaged with. So many opinions revolving about the holy matrimony. The question is, what does the Lord say about what Marriage really is? Marriage is a sanctified intimate union between a man and woman in which the two becomes one physically.... Read More

Keada’s 3rd Birthday

Attending children’s party is now becoming a frequent activity for us. It’s either my husband’s friends or my own set of friends are inviting us to attend to their kid's birthday parties. Does this means we're getting old? Lol☺ No, we are just entering a new phase in our lives. From being a couple to finally be blessed as parents for our growing toddler which is getting more apparent with the series of social changes we’re experiencing. I’m happy to have gone thru all these wonderful stage of being a parent. We’ve attended two birthday parties for this month. How awesome... Read More

Champurado

“Mommy, eat Akyn Chochowait (chocolate).” My son’s request every time he sees me preparing the chocolate porridge for breakfast as we locally call the dish as “Champurado“. He loves eating it the same way as I do. This type of breakfast clearly reminds me of my sweet childhood. Almost everyday my Lola prepared rice porridge for our breakfast. I could finish two servings of it. Aggrh! It was so delicious especially if you’re going to add powdered milk as toppings. Hunger satisfied. Do you also have a favorite food that can give a nostalgic effects on you? I got plenty... Read More

Sister’s Birthday

Happiest birthday to my beautiful sister. We got so many reasons to celebrate her birthday today. Another gift of life to enjoy the love of our family. We are so much thankful she was safe as she was approaching her natal day. If you’ve read my previous post about one of our dearest friend who recently passed away, she was my sister’s closest co-teacher. They were always together wherever they go. It just so happened during the accident my sister has an appointment for her Masters Class. If not, she could have gone with the same vehicle where Ma’am Daisy... Read More

Adulting Why So Challenging

When I was in grade school, I could clearly remember how much I was eager to reach High school. Kept on complaining about the huge trolley bags with all the books required everyday. I mean, I was just a kid! Why is my bag bigger than my size? It was like a never-ending fix study time. High School looked so cool for me way back then. They got smaller sized bags. I felt it interesting in transferring rooms for every subject which we seldom encounter in grade school. Finally reached High school and experienced all those changes in the school policies.... Dating Lovebirds

Monthsary celebration is becoming not that special to us as compared to those days before we got married. I don’t know, maybe because we were both preoccupied with our everyday responsibilities making us forget those special moments. It was like a mortal sin before if one of us will fail to remember our Monthsary during our younger years (college sweethearts). Who can relate to this? Lol. Our Wedding Anniversary though is an exception! We always find time to celebrate our wedding anniversaries. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate one of the happiest event of being married? It doesn’t need to be... Read More

Just Listen

A bit exasperated a few weeks ago and decided to release some of my unwanted anger by talking to a friend. As they said, one of the best ways to vent out frustrations is to talk it out with someone you trust with. But sometimes people whom you trust interpret it negatively. She jumped into advising me in directing my concern to the person involved which seemed she was unwilling to console me. Instead of listening first, as a human instinct she automatically provided feedback on what needs to be done to face my annoyance and judged me based on my story. Life doesn’t... Read More

Daisy Our Beautiful Flower

A devastating news hit our family when one of my sister’s co-teacher turned into her closest friend and eventually became like a family member to us met a vehicular accident yesterday. We’ve been praying for her recovery, however, her sustained injuries were too serious making her body to finally give up. It’s one of the most hurtful events I never and will never be ready to face. I’m scared to even discuss about death and imagining being left by the people I love. When I heard it from sister, I tried my best to control my lacrimal glands from getting... Read More

The Importance Of Play

It’s one of a difficult task for us working Mom’s in making sure our time between our career and our roles as a mother are both balanced. We can’t afford to sacrifice our motherly role to our kids just to satisfy the demands of our jobs and vice versa. If one of our obligations is compromised, it’s going to give us lots of stress to fulfill the gaps of our responsibilities. Perks of being a Super Momma! During our rest days, Mon and I will always find a bonding moment with our Akyn. Having a child doesn’t only mean providing him with his basic needs and... Read More

Gift Giving Ideas for Our Fathers

This post is sponsored by Gifts Less Ordinary but the content and opinion expressed here are my own. It’s one of the most challenging task I consider in looking for a perfect present for my husband, for my father or any male friends of mine. Unlike for ladies, where I can completely relate to those stuff which women would want to receive as a gift. There was one time, when it took me several hours searching for the best gift for one of my male friends during our work related gift giving activity. It was a waste of both my time... Read More

I Am A Mother

“You’ve received the greatest gift of being a woman, and that is to become a mother.” I got this compliment from a nurse on duty just after a few hours I gave birth to my only son. It was a blessing which I could never have imagined the unique happiness motherhood can give me. This day marks another year for us mothers to celebrate our special day of giving life to another beautiful soul. It’s an honor to be called a Mommy. Why? Simply because being a Mom requires a lot of self-sacrifice to the point of sometimes exhausting our own... Read More

Ibabaw Mountain Resort

Once in a while it’s best to take a break from the usual routine of being part of the working class. Who wouldn’t want to switch off their work mode button? It has been planned weeks ago about our beach/swimming pool outing to unwind a bit and escape the busy city life for a day. Our first choice was a resort in the northern part of Cebu. Unfortunately, it was fully booked for our chosen date. Must be a blessing in disguise on why weren’t accommodated. The location would take at least 2-3 hours of travel and may take more... A Glance To His World

What a night to remember we had yesteday! My husband’s employer invited the family members of their employees for the office official blessing. I was hesitant to visit due to some time constraints and also, I am not really fond of attending to social gatherings not unless I know someone close to me who shall be present on the event as well. I had persuaded Mon to attend our pool party with my colleagues last Thursday. It was just right for me to reciprocate to his request in engaging for their office gatherings. How was the experience? If there’s someone who... Read More
