Season Change

It was a bank holiday yesterday which means a day off for the three of us. An alternating sunny and cloudy day that made me push through with my promise to Akyn to bring him to a nearby park. Mon's doing his long run practice, too. A win-win activity for everyone. I love to go out during spring time with all the flowers blooming nicely. Everywhere seemed to be IG worthy for a shot, don't you agree? I'm also excited for a lighter and more colorful clothes to be on trend whilst thick coats back hidden in my wardrobe. Here's this... PlanTita

Hello to another immigrant journey blogging 101.😍 I haven't been very well last weekend with all the non stop sneezing and runny nose going on. Whenever the weather changes, my body reacts to it and the reaction is often not nice. I'm thankful, I am feeling a bit better today. Hope all of you are all ok, too. Yesterday, when Akyn arrived home, he was very eager to show his award from school. "Look Mama, I have a prize from school today!" Then the conversation never stopped with him narrating how he managed to get it, to how he felt... Read More

UK Major Bathroom Renovation

I'm so thrilled to share how my new bathroom looks like after the renovation. I have just finished cleaning the house, yet here I am already sitting trying to put all my words together to come up with a blog post about our newest renovated part of our home. It's our first time having to go with one big renovation in our UK house. With the fact that we don't know anyone else in this country as to whom we can trust regarding the changes we wanted to achieve in our home, having it done successfully with my chosen bathroom... Employee of the Month

When I look back to the times when we were still building our dreams and do a memory lane to where we are now in reference to the original goal we had, I couldn't stop myself to say my praise to thy Heavens. How? Like how did we manage to make our dreams realized? What did we do to deserve all these graces? And the list of questions continue of surreal feeling at this moment. Mon received his award as the employee of the month from his work place. We were very much elated getting such a wonderful news. We... Read More

Ikea and Costco Quick Trip

It is seldom that Mon's day off and my off duty would match on the same day. So, whenever there's an opportunity especially on a weekend, we would gladly grab it to get some quick trip to anywhere that the three of us would have fun with. That's the life of an OFW. It's either we are at work or we are traveling to get some fresh air. The fact that we don't have any relatives near us to spend some special moments as a family, we would rather enjoy every bit of the fruits of our hard work than... Read More

UK Celebrates Mother’s Day 23

UK celebrated the Mother's Day yesterday which was different from the month we usually celebrate in the Philippines. Back home, we follow the American dates, celebrating Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May. Whatever month it is celebrated, it still aims the same thing and that's to appreciate the hard work with love given to us by all the mothers in the world.😍 How did you celebrate your special day Pretty Mommas? For me, I had a blast. I asked Mon if he would be more than glad to let me choose the place to spend it. Without much... Read More

Life Update First Q 2023

The first quarter of 2023 is almost finished. How fast the days went! I've also had reached my fourth year of stay in this country. Yay! Happy fourth to us as an immigrant. Is it a big deal surviving this long to stay in a country with completely different culture from us? Of course, it ain't easy adapting to everything new. Coming here with only a suitcase full of clothes leaving everything we've started back home because we wanted change to happen to our professional growth is something I will always be thankful I decided to take the risk. It... Read More

World Book Day 2023

An amazing power that writing can do is the capability of evoking different emotions to each readers. An article or a book can make us feel happy, inspired, laugh with the words used by the writers encouraging unique interpretations from the book loyalist. On the other hand, written words can also trigger the opposite of positive interpretations. Quite an amazing trick writers could do to play with humans' emotions, isn't it?😂 When I post a blog, do I consider if somebody might take it negatively and presume that I might be pointing the post towards them? The answer is I... Read More

Junction 32 Half Term Break

Good morning beautiful world! Another blogging day for me on a rest day. We've just finished our half term break yesterday. Today is the first day of back to school routine of Akyn which means I got my Me time moment again to finally organize my thoughts to write.😍 One thing I've learned in our UK family journey is every school break means an opportunity to get some time off so we can spend it together with our boy. A time off from work is a must for exhausted working adults like us.(LOL)🤣 Nothing beats the smile of this young... Read More

Moonlight Piece First Place Piano Competition

We are all still feeling very elated after Akyn's performance last Saturday when he joined a piano competition in Cottingham. Mon and I are so proud of our baby's effort to overcome his fear of performing in front of a huge crowd. Almost everyone has that fear even me as a grown up I would be petrified to be on the spot. How much more for a seven year old boy! The night before Akyn's performance, he expressed how scared he would be for the next day and we, as the parents could at least offer our words of encouragement... Read More

January Home Decor

Went to one of the shops with my boy after his class and one of the store clerk asked, "Are you Espanyol?" Responded with a brief answer, "I am not Spanish!". He continued, "Are you Nihao, then?" I am not certain if I should laugh with the question or get irritated with it because nihao isn't even a nationality at all. I took my change from what I bought, told him, "I AM A FILIPINO!'' I've been in this country for almost four years now and yet, I still feel Filipinos are part of the invisible group with little information... Read More

This Brand New Year

Happy New Year everyone. A long overdue post for this brand new calendar again. Haven't sat down and contemplated for a new post because this Momma was busy savoring my tranquility doing nothing at home during off. Sometimes slowing down a bit, chilling out with a warm drink and not worrying of finishing any task to do is a much needed rest for us Mommas on the go, don't you think? This is our 2023 family photo and is of course already printed to be added to my photo album. Old school as this say in storing memorable pictures but... Read More

Akyn’s 7th Birthday

It's been a few days since I had shared another blog post for my Akynfullhouse website. The holiday season for me has been extremely busy, not just because of being a working mother but also due to my other extra activities or tasks I needed to prepare for December. My Akyn's seventh birthday was one of my top priorities of my to do list. I did ask Akyn on how he wanted to celebrate his birthday if he wanted us to do the normal family travel get away we do during special events or if he prefers to throw a... Read More

Christmas 2022

I hope everyone of you guys had a wonderful time during Christmas. For the three of us we spent a lovely Holidays together. Apart from getting busy with all the Christmas shopping for the gift giving activity, we offered most of our time doing singing practice with our friends from St. Charles preparing for the Christmas eve and Christmas Day mass. I was poorly last 2021 and unfortunately I missed those two important church activities. Gladly for 2022, I was finally able to experience joining my friends to witness a joyful evening mass. These were few of my wrapped gifts... Read More

Early Christmas Surprise From Akyn

Christmas is in the air both literally and figuratively with the minus two degrees temperature and the trees covered with ice, oh yes it is definitely the holiday season. Akyn gave us an early Christmas gift yesterday with his amazing act of bravery to overcome his fears every time he needs to perform in front of the crowd. I still get petrified with public speaking if I'll be ask to do one. How much more for a six year old boy? He showed me this little house with sweets and said that he was so happy with himself for getting... Read More

In Liverpool Day 2

As planned, here's the second part of our trip to Liverpool. Traveling doesn't only mean ticking the box of accomplished places we've visited but it's our own way of gaining our energy back from the stressful adulting life. So thankful to my friends' suggestions as to where to visit next here in the UK. Everyday is an opportunity to discover more about this county. I'm always excited to visit new places with my family especially if I know shopping is very much recommended to the nearby big shops of the area. LOL😁 I'll start my blog with my travel OOTD....
