Akyn’s First School Day

Last weekend while having a discussion with Mon via online, a reminder suddenly popped into my head about our plan to send Akyn to school for this June's opening of classes. Right, we totally forgot how fast time flies and it's almost May but we haven't had contacted the school regarding the requirements for enrollment. Dear me! Thank you God for reminding our busy heads making sure our Akyn's needs aren't taken for granted. The following day, Monday, Mon called the Holy Infant School Montessori as the nearest school to our subdivision inquiring about our intention to enrol Akyn. The... Read More

Toddler’s Witt

It's been a while since I've written a blog post about my Akyn. Our time together has been temporarily interrupted while I'm working overseas. Crossing fingers to be together again in God's perfect time. It's a challenge to be away but as what the priest here had shared this morning's station of the cross stating, "Today's grief is necessary for Tomorrow's joy." This too shall pass! I greatly believe on that. I've talked to one of the overseas worker who had spent working here for almost two decades about his experience of moving away from his family. Can you imagine... The Hardest Part Of Leaving

It took me weeks before I can finally afford to write my own experience on how I managed to take a step away from my family on the day I was scheduled to leave my home country. It wasn't easy honestly. I would say it was one of the most terrible feeling of sadness I've ever felt in my entire life. It crushed my heart into pieces I got comments from people saying I must be part of the determined soul mothers who can leave their kids for the sake of my career development. I'm not even sure on how... Read More

The Approval

It took me an hour to convince my toddler to let me borrow Dellia (my laptop) so I can start blogging again. That’s the life of a mom, most of the time, you need to adjust your planned schedules when your child is requesting you to stop doing anything and just focus your attention to him. Who can say no to your cutest source of joy? How did you all spent your Valentine’s Day? One thing I love about the Valentine’s Day is the fact that we can express our love to someone without the fear of getting labeled as... Read More

First Tooth Extraction

As scheduled by Akyn’s dentist, we went for his tooth extraction appointment yesterday. During our first check up I was advised to set Akyn’s mind regarding the coming dental appointment to at least calm down my toddler's feelings and lessen his fears. That’s going to be a challenging task for me then. My boy is so playful which would mean every conversation we have doesn’t necessary follows his full attention is with me talking to him. Most of the time, he is only enjoying having a mommy-baby playtime moment without paying attention to the details of the discussion in between . I still tried... Read More

Christmas Pool and Dinner Family Gathering

How was your Christmas celebration? I had one of the happiest, simple yet memorable. As agreed, we stayed in our house to celebrate the Holiday season. Yey! For the very first time, finally our little home was filled with happiness during the most joyful season of the year. We used to celebrate it in my parents home. I’m thankful everyone was happy about my suggestion. Because I am the host for tonight, I had to take charge of the preparation. My list for the grocery items were all prepared at the back of my head. Do you also do that... Read More

Pre Birthday Shoot Session with Akyn

Doing a pre-birthday shoot may be a little bit pricey if you’ll contact a professional photographer to do a personalized photo session. I’ve tried inquiring one and the initial charge was for a package of P10,000. The output samples were nice but I find it too expensive. What Mon and I did instead was to find something cheaper where we can save more. We bought a Woody costume through Shopee.  Akyn’s overall get-up including the hat was about P500. Then, we went to a photo studio, chose their glamour shots with free picture frames already. Our total expenses was only... Read More

Educational Toys

For the past two years and 10 months we have already accumulated at least two huge boxes of assorted toys for Akyn. How was it possible? Every trip to the mall my child never misses to request for one. The loving parents find it hard to say no to his sweet request. “Mommy toy please,” he said it with his cutest smile. Though there were few instances that I have to say no to his choice of toys but I haven’t experienced him throwing a fit in public for not getting what he wanted. Thank you Lord! I’m crossing my... Spontaneity Of Unplanned Trips

We’ve decided to spend our Sunday by strolling around the city together with our baby boy. The only day we are always excited to come. Why? Because it’s solely the day when we are both free to spend quality time with our toddler. No work to worry about, no schedules plotted to comply, happy to say we got a complete FREEDOM for Sunday. Thank you Lord! Nothing specific was planned for our itinerary. All we were certain to do was to enjoy the day or to buy something for ourselves. This is something nice about unplanned trips which I find... Read More

Parenting Experience With My Baby Boy

We had a discussion with my friends about the difference of being a parent to a baby girl versus having a baby boy. In my case, as a first time mom to my son, I can only share to them how sweet is the mother and son relationship and my journey of parenting a baby boy . I’m also a bit curious on how it would feel to have a little me. For sure having a baby girl will also be a wonderful experience. They are both beautiful gifts to us moms. Having a son who is so sweet makes... Read More

Witty Toddler Conversation

I am trying to find ways to teach my child how to do some basic art work like coloring his newly bought coloring books using either crayons or his water color. I haven’t enrolled him to play groups just yet. Next year will still be our target for him to start going to school. Perfect time when he will be officially three years old. Excited! For our home activity, I drew a big fish in a white empty paper and gave him instructions to fill the inside portion of the fish with colors. He was so eager to apply his... Read More

I Am Proud

I love bringing my toddler with me while processing all my necessary documents needed for the completion of my job requirements. It’s tiring carrying him most of the time (he hates doing long walks)while visiting several government offices but at the same time, he made our appointments less stressful. I would say he is my lucky charm in getting all my tasks accomplished. ☺ We were about to get another paperwork done this Monday with our last checklist item to finish. Yes, finally I’m almost there to complete them all! We rode a lift to get to the floor of... Read More

Bestie’s Wedding

Never had I imagined I’m going to feel so emotionally happy seeing my bestie finally walking down the aisle wearing her white wedding gown. I’ve known Florisa since college and from that moment until now she remained exactly the same jolly person I’ve ever known. Seldom when friendship can last for more than seven years. Ours is about a decade now. Yey! If you have found one, treasure it because you’re blessed to have it.   We were called Tres Marias(Carel, Michelle and Florisa) way back in college. We used to wear the same designs of clothes during parties, met... Read More

Things Have Changed

I do always consider “First experience” as a sweet memorable thing for us. Akyn opened doors for several “First Time”, not just in parenting but as a whole family. Excited like most first time parents would feel, the three of us love exploring those moments of being together. Unknowingly, our first time activities of being a family had made changes to our accustomed pattern of doing things in the same way like we used to do it as husband  and wife. Whether it’s as simple like dining together or spending a budget get-away, each marks a considerable happy encounter. One interesting aspect I’ve... Read More

A Good Father

How can someone be considered as a “Good Father” to his child? Are there any specific qualifications needed to be met before a man can claim to be called as a responsible daddy. If you’ll search it in google, it will provide us a long list of answers. It’s kind of hard to define it using the different ideal characteristics of a perfect dad. What if one of the qualities we’re looking for isn’t possessed by our husband? Will that mean he won’t qualify to have such honor? I simply define a “Good Father” as someone who purely loves his... Separation Anxiety

Akyn is becoming more clingy to his Daddy as they spend more time to play during Mon’s free time. It’s a daily routine of crying and wailing begging for more time to spend with him every time his father is about to head to work. How do you handle such behavior of your toddler? This is mostly the dilemma of working parents when you’re torn between staying at home with your child or going to work. If we could only do both responsibilities at the same time, we would gladly do it. What my child is experiencing is what they coined... Read More
