First and Foremost

I am an avid blog reader of different genres of   blog entries. I like reading topics about DIY projects, discussions about marriage and parenting (I am a mother of a cute baby boy), budget travel and latest fashion trends.

While reading one of my favorite blog entries, I was so carried over by my emotions while reading the story. Somehow, I felt connected emotionally to the writer. I then realized, why not start my own blog and touch peoples’ lives and share my own thoughts.

So this is how it all begun.

Let me share my love story as my first entry for my blog.♥

Me and my husband Andamon are happily married since 2014, but we started dating way back when we were still in college. I was in a shaky relationship with my ex-boyfriend when I met him. Before FACEBOOK became a hit in social media, there was Friendster, which connected both our lives together.

How did we met in Friendster?

Carel, a close friend of mine in college had a  yahoo messenger account and was using the ID name: FIONA the princess. Andamon’s attention was caught by the ID name FIONA and dropped Carel a message. He asked where Shrek was? My silly friend replied, “He’s dead,” “I killed Shrek.” (hahaha) To make the story short, my husband asked for Carel’s number and Friendster account. Guess what! Carel gave him MY number and MY Friendster account instead of her details. He texted me that  night introducing himself politely. Frankly told him it wasn’t me with whom he was chatting earlier, but the friendster account was indeed mine. We started getting to know each other thru text, in short we became textmates.☺

We made a deal that we will become an offical couple, if he will come and visit Cebu.  I knew it was a bit expensive for him to visit Cebu since he was  still a  5th year Computer Engineering student from Tacloban. I wasn’t expecting him to come at all, but August 16,2008 came and tadaaan he really did fulfill his promise to visit me.

I broke up with my ex boyfriend and I became committed with Andamon. Being in a long distance relationship wasn’t easy. Our mode of communication was thru text and online chat. We were only  able to see each other twice or thrice in a year. Challenges and difficulties came into our relationship. We finally decided to call it quits last 2010. I felt devastated with the failed relationship. I wasn’t expecting  he would finally gave up on me. Time passed and  wounds healed but the love I had for him remained. He found a new girlfriend after we broke up. I was also into another on and off  relationship with someone else. I wasn’t totally over him. I couldn’t find the happiness with the new relationship I was into.=(

By the End of 2011, we started communicating. He recently broke up with his girlfriend  when we started to keep in touch. My emotions were mixed of happiness, excitement and resentment. I was happy and excited to finally have him back  but I also had the feeling of resentment, on why and how he was able to move on a month after we broke up. I wasn’t sure if I should accept him into my life and follow my heart, or should I just have to let him go again. I asked a sign from the Lord, if we were really meant to be, he would  find his way to relocate in Cebu. June 2012, he was hired as a computer programmer in Cebu.

Distance was no longer an issue in our relationship. We enjoyed every moment together, travelled to places we’ve never been to, resolved conflicts between us, and celebrated special occasions together.

It was August 2013, when he  finally popped the question,”Will you marry me ?” and  without battling an eye, I said,” YES!”

Love is a commitment not just a feeling. It needs constant effort to keep the fire of emotions burning.

Happiest Event in our Life

Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
