Trip To Dumaguete (Boat Experience)

It’s been almost a year since the last time I traveled away from home to unwind from the stressful work environment. Aside from the cost of travelling, I also had to manage my time last year between my work schedule and my task of being a first time mom to my newborn. I would say last year was a year full packed of activities. I was exhausted both in preparing for my little boy’s Christening and his first birthday party. Finally, I can now afford to squeeze in some time off request from work for this year. Hooray!

My first goal for this year is to renew my expired passport. The Department of Foreign Affairs has a new policy regarding passport application and renewal. All setting of appointments for appearance should be made online not unless you belong to those who are exempted to the rule which are specified on their official website (dfa.gov.ph). I checked the available slots for passport appointment for my location and I was dismayed as all the schedules were full. I may need to wait for the next releasing of schedules for the next three months. I could not wait for that long. I checked the Dumaguete site, the nearest location to my place, and thankfully they still had available slots for June. Without any hesitations, I booked it for June 23. I was pretty much excited about the trip. It was like hitting two birds at the same time, and that includes renewing my passport and at the same time visiting a place that I have never been to with my family.

We booked a ticket for an overnight trip on a slow boat from Cebu to Dumaguete. The boat left Cebu at around 7 P.M. and arrived to Dumaguete at about 2 to 3 A.M. We had our dinner inside the ship and brought food with us of course, we have an active toddler who loves to eat.

Last minute shopping for our ready-to-go food for our trip.????

My 18 month old toddler behaved as exactly the way I was expecting him to react to his first boat experience. He was so curious with his environment and he kept on walking around. He was like an inspector checking every details of the vessel. My husband followed him whenever he went. He saved my legs from getting tired. Yey! ?

These are the photos of my baby showing how thrilled he was during the trip. ??

I felt both thankful and happy with our family outing. This is the first time we traveled outside Cebu together. I’m praying that God will bless us with more opportunities to bond together. This experience is absolutely memorable.
