Whitby

I am a believer that if we are into the habit of doing something nice to the people around us without asking or expecting anything in return, the universe will pave its way to return the blessings to us in ways we’ve never realized to receive it. Just like our free trip last Sunday to Whitby together with Kuya Marcelo’s family. It was such a happy trip to visit a wonderful place to end the summer. Thank you Kuya and Ate Susan.

Kuya Marcelo had generously catered the three of us to be included in their seven seater family car. It’s one of the benefit of having your own car for you can travel to places at your own time without worrying when the next bus will come. Mon is still in the process of taking his driving lessons here. For now, we rely on the mercy of the kind Filipino friends giving us a free ride or using the public trasport if we want to travel. Buying a car in the UK is very affordable compared to the Philippines. The only concern is your ability to pass the driving test for you to be officially granted to drive. In God’s time we will reach there hopefully soon.

I’m thrilled to share to you our photos in our Whitby escapade. We first went to Whitby Abbey. I think we paid an entrance fee of around 35GBP for the three of us. Not bad,ey? It was super cold in the morning and I’m literally shivering with my knitted jacket on. Thanks to Bella. She let me borrow her cozy green blanket during the trip.

Every spot in the ruins of the Abbey Church is absolutely stunning. Mon was telling me this could have been a nice spot for those wanting to have a prenup photoshoot. LOL.

Kuya Adrian, the cutest photobomber.

Our favorite photo subject

We were so lucky to witness the War Weekend in Whitby showing the re- enactment of the life during the Vikings. The actors were also very accomodating answering our questions about their clothes and the way of living portrayed in each tent. One of the actors said that the brighter the color of the Viking’s clothes means the richer he is. RED is one of the most expensive color back then.

Ate Susan and Kuya Marcelo brought us here. I so love the scampi and chips. Their fish and chips tasted like the normal fish and chips served anywhere else in the UK. Still tasty but nothing more fancy to say.

This is the 199 steps in Whitby Abbey. I was catching my breath when I reached the top of the steps. Yes, I exceeded my 10k steps target per day.

For more travels to come. Thank you Lord for the beautiful weather during our trip.
