Inclination To Writing

Today, I received a notebook from my sister as her gift. Yippee! This has always been my request from her whenever she’ll asked me on what I like to receive from her. I have so much fascination to paper products because of my inclination to write.

When I was in grade school, I could remember collecting paper scented stationery. I used them in sending snail mail letters to my cousins and friends (crushes lol). Mobile Phones weren’t available during my childhood years but I am grateful for experiencing the old traditional method of communication. Generations of today are presented with several technologies for message transmission giving them lesser opportunities to send handwritten letters instead.

On the other hand, it is also undeniable that technology allowed many to benefit from it. If computers were not yet available now, I may have already consumed several writing materials for my blog entries. That’s too much paper works to collect, isn’t it?

What’s with writing which I find it so addictive?

Writing allows me to express myself better. Most of the time I can’t find the right words to describe my thoughts in speaking with someone. This is a supremely frustrating experience to me and to my listeners. My emotions will come first making me stumble over my words. With writing, it offers me another outlet to let me think clearly on what my heart is wanting to express forcing my hand and my brain to work together.

Writing can also make me happy. Conveying through expressive writing also offers therapeutic effects by allowing me to manage my stress level and improving my mood. If I feel so upset about anything, I simply write those emotions into words or sometimes, I would think of a happy subject to write about, so I can divert my negative feelings to a positive one.

They are my source of inspiration to write for my blog.

Writing drives me to improve my writing skills. I am not a professional writer and you can probably see it with my method of writing. The more I write, the more I am obliged to study and get familiarized with the usage of words for my article. I’ve heard someone said before, “Bloggers aren’t really writers,”. We may not be a professional writer who publishes novels and books YET, but anyone can be a writer if they have the heart to learn. You’ll never know, the books sold in the market maybe one of the books published by a writer who started as a Freelance Blogger.

And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
― Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

Writing enables me to keep a written record of my life ideas. This is one of the major reasons on why I started to create my own blog. I want to write those beautiful memories of myself and my family, so I have something to read through when I’ll reach my retirement age. It’s like an open book of a happy recollection of my younger days, much more interesting than my photo album collections.

Life is indeed full of stories to write and I love sharing them to others who may be able to relate to it. Staying at a corner and scribbling on a piece of paper, spending quite time during work breaks to write something, enjoying the feeling of finishing stories to be published in my blog site, are few of the activities I enjoy a lot now. Do you also have the same fondness towards writing?

Share some stories of yours too.
