Humber Bridge Country Park

With the start of our Akyn's Easter holiday this weekends, we are tied to our mommy and daddy duties 24/7. I always love when our boy is at home because we can spend more time with him. Kids grow up so fast and their needy stage won't last long. Many parents with grown up kids would always advise me to savor the sweet stage moment of my boy when he's still too clingy and too expressive to let me know he misses my hugs when I am at work. Time will come when they will have their own set of... Read More

Piano Solo Invite-Celebration Concert Cottingham

I still can't believe my little man got invited to perform his solo piano performance last Saturday,16th of March in Cottingham. Akyn was so excited and looking forward for the special day to come. Who would have thought we will be able to experience to be part of the beautiful musical event like this in the UK. It was our first time seeing young people performing using musical instruments like the harp, violin and the angelic voices of the children, too gave me goose bumps. It wasn't just an ordinary performance because the participants in the event were mostly winners from... Read More

First Manga Book Owned

Good morning pretties. It's such a gloomy day today here.⛈️. After I dropped Akyn to school, I was walking alone entertaining my inner thoughts. It was already starting to rain a bit and the sky turned darker than it was minutes ago. Although the weather wasn't perfect as I was hoping it to be on my rest day, miraculously my mood wasn't affected. I felt so gracious for everything happening in my life whilst my stay here as an immigrant. The film we watched last night made me more thankful of what I am now.❤️ We watched a movie in... Rock Up

Cold morning pretty Mommas. Winter it is, the time where most of us choose to be cozy and warm at home. For me, this cold season encourages me to finish a blog post rather than going out to shop alone during my time off. With Mon at work and Akyn in school today would mean I own the house this morning, free to do what I want on my rest day. Coffee + Wordpress + Britney’s music= Look at that! Using two screens just to finish one post!(LOL) This is Mon's workplace when he is scheduled to work from home... Read More

No We Don’t

Went to grocery shopping with Akyn and suddenly he questioned me on how much money I have left in my purse. I lied and said I only got one pound that I needed to budget until payday and asked him why he asked. "I wanted to buy a Kinder Egg but I don't want it now because I don't want to waste your money." "I will just wait for the next payday when you have enough money Mommie!" I bought him the chocolate before we left and told him I forgot that I still have some spare change to afford... Read More

Pilipinas Vacation 2023 Part 1

After three years we finally made it realized to visit back home in Cebu again. Too many things happened within my three years stay as an OFW in the UK. To mention the unexpected Covid 19 pandemic hit followed by the strict protocols in travelling especially in going out of the country. It made it very tedious to travel. I missed home every passing day and this moment shown in the photo is my most awaited day to set my feet back to my hometown. The feeling is still so fresh of how much I am so eager to get... Mon’s Birthday and Everything Nice

It took me a while to write something new because I've been a so much of a worrier lately regarding some concerns about our owned properties at home that needs sorting out. It's a long overdue process that I should have dealt with before but I chose to procrastinate because I already contemplated the hassle both financially and most of all emotionally draining fighting to get what is ought to be MINE. I attended the Holy mass last Sunday to get more strength to overcome our family challenge at this moment, especially my Mama trying to display a brave face... Read More

9th Wedding Anniversary

June has been a kind month to us filled with all the joyful events to be grateful in life. Well, everyday should be a day I needed to remind myself to be thankful I am still breathing doing the things I love, isn't it? That's the spirit grateful Momma!❤️ Although I know that life ain't always sunshine and rainbows to be honest. Gloomy days are unfortunately part of the equation in this lifetime. I acknowledge my feelings when I'm down. However, I make it to the point to shoo those cloudy days and let thy sunshine warm my human body.... Read More

Lisa’s Waxmelts and Shower Whips

For this blog I will be promoting the small business of one of my workmates turned into a nice friend of mine called Lisa's waxmelts. I've known her since I moved to a different job posting. To give you a little background about me changing my current workplace last year, here's a quick recap. I was quite worried at first when I had to change my work assignment thinking I got to adjust to a different set of people again, new work routines, new workloads like everything would be different except that I will still be in the fourth floor... First Communion of Akyn

An important milestone in Akyn's Catholic life was realized last Saturday. It still felt surreal witnessing him during the whole ceremony. I am a proud mother for my boy, well most mum's do. We carry our child for nine months in our tummy, spent sleepless nights attending to our newborn and the list continues. With the bond moms had created to their child, it is just right for us, mothers to be the first loyal fan of our kids in every life achievements they'll have. Well done Akyn, so there! I couldn't keep my eyes away from him through out... Read More

Doors

Sunny morning Pretty Mommas. I can start my blog with completely a different topic but I chose the weather. Why? Because part of the adulting life is starting a small talk discussing about the weather most commonly, the safest way to connect and engage in a conversation. Don't you agree? I myself who isn't that good with my social skills would personally choose to talk about the climate situation first just to break the awkward silence. LOL🤣 Too many things to learn and adapt with all these adult life task. From socializing, continuous responsibilities to get done and the list... Read More

Employee of the Month

When I look back to the times when we were still building our dreams and do a memory lane to where we are now in reference to the original goal we had, I couldn't stop myself to say my praise to thy Heavens. How? Like how did we manage to make our dreams realized? What did we do to deserve all these graces? And the list of questions continue of surreal feeling at this moment. Mon received his award as the employee of the month from his work place. We were very much elated getting such a wonderful news. We... Read More

The first quarter of 2023 is almost finished. How fast the days went! I've also had reached my fourth year of stay in this country. Yay! Happy fourth to us as an immigrant. Is it a big deal surviving this long to stay in a country with completely different culture from us? Of course, it ain't easy adapting to everything new. Coming here with only a suitcase full of clothes leaving everything we've started back home because we wanted change to happen to our professional growth is something I will always be thankful I decided to take the risk. World Book Day 2023

An amazing power that writing can do is the capability of evoking different emotions to each readers. An article or a book can make us feel happy, inspired, laugh with the words used by the writers encouraging unique interpretations from the book loyalist. On the other hand, written words can also trigger the opposite of positive interpretations. Quite an amazing trick writers could do to play with humans' emotions, isn't it?😂 When I post a blog, do I consider if somebody might take it negatively and presume that I might be pointing the post towards them? The answer is I... Read More

Moonlight Piece First Place Piano Competition

We are all still feeling very elated after Akyn's performance last Saturday when he joined a piano competition in Cottingham. Mon and I are so proud of our baby's effort to overcome his fear of performing in front of a huge crowd. Almost everyone has that fear even me as a grown up I would be petrified to be on the spot. How much more for a seven year old boy! The night before Akyn's performance, he expressed how scared he would be for the next day and we, as the parents could at least offer our words of encouragement... Read More
