Akyn’s 1st Birthday Preparations (December 30,2016)

Akyn’s birthday fall on the 30th of December which is celebrated as Rizal’s Day here in the Philippines. December is such a busy month with all the Christmas parties and Reunion parties, that means we needed to book our suppliers as early as possible last year. I was the one who chose the birthday theme for Akyn (mother knows best). As you all know from my previous post (Akyn’s Christening) that I had shared about how much I am into bears, so this time I opted to have Winnie the Pooh and Friends birthday theme.

I’ll share with you some DIY preparations we made with the help of my family. My DIY abilities was awaken again. One thing I love about preparing for an event is for me to personalize my souvenirs. It’s how I can show my love for my loved ones during special occasions. I am more into exerting my own effort if I can rather than buying unexceptional items from the store.

These are the prizes for the games. Winnie the Pooh triangular shaped face.

Our Loot Party containers for the kids filled with sweets and toys.

I wasn’t really planning to give out souvenirs for the guests but my sister insisted me to buy one. My last minute decision for the souvenir items. We bought a colorful handheld fan in different shades. Purchased a dark and light pink for Piglet, blue for Eeyore and yellow for Pooh. I wasn’t able to find the orange shade to match with Tiger.

Booked SV Balloons for our Balloons and decorations.

We recycled Akyn’s letter standee and changed the pictures attached to it from bears to Winnie the Pooh characters.

A party can never be complete without the cake and the sweet corner. We made the personalized cupcake toppers and ordered the cake with the sweets from CAKE and MEMORIES.

I know Akyn can’t totally appreciate the fun in the party yet but I made it sure I kept a copy of the pictures for him to look back in the future. We love you baby. More birthdays to come. ♥♥♥
