Making Choices

On my way home yesterday, I saw a man bathing under the old bridge of Marcelo Fernan. What caught my attention was the way he enjoyed the sea with the waves steadily creeping towards him. I watched him soaking his body in the middle of the water using a piece of an empty bucket. He filled the bucket with water then poured it down slowly dripping from his hair to his body. He could have just swum right away as what people would normally do. But why did he do it differently from what was accustomed? Maybe he didn’t know how... Read More

Lowest Form of Wit

As per the famous quote of Oscar Wilde, "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.” I certainly agree with him because you don’t need to exercise a higher analytical thinking of scorning others with the sharpness of your tongue. How do you handle talking to a sarcastic person? Do you find the conversation helpful by any chance? Or do you find it mean and insensitive? I also can’t stand dealing with sarcasm. My system isn’t programmed to withstand those particular brand of humor. I find it hurtful to attack someone just for the purpose of being funny. Either it’s done... Read More

Why I Chose to Marry

10552451_10202166001905704_8946100383123947962_n.jpg
People have different convictions when it comes to getting married or living the single life with no commitment set by the church or by the state law. Others may view Marriage as a MUST before couples can be allowed to live together as part of their cultural creed. While some consider it as another set of worries to get engaged with. So many opinions revolving about the holy matrimony. The question is, what does the Lord say about what Marriage really is? Marriage is a sanctified intimate union between a man and woman in which the two becomes one physically.... Read More

Adulting Why So Challenging

When I was in grade school, I could clearly remember how much I was eager to reach High school. Kept on complaining about the huge trolley bags with all the books required everyday. I mean, I was just a kid! Why is my bag bigger than my size? It was like a never-ending fix study time. High School looked so cool for me way back then. They got smaller sized bags. I felt it interesting in transferring rooms for every subject which we seldom encounter in grade school. Finally reached High school and experienced all those changes in the school policies.... Just Listen

A bit exasperated a few weeks ago and decided to release some of my unwanted anger by talking to a friend. As they said, one of the best ways to vent out frustrations is to talk it out with someone you trust with. But sometimes people whom you trust interpret it negatively. She jumped into advising me in directing my concern to the person involved which seemed she was unwilling to console me. Instead of listening first, as a human instinct she automatically provided feedback on what needs to be done to face my annoyance and judged me based on my story. Life doesn’t... Read More

Let Me Post It

When Social Media became a hit as one of the channels to socialize with people way back when I was in College, I got so hooked into it. I had made a lot of friends online without really knowing them personally. I had the chance in connecting to people regardless of the distance. It was like everything was possible! I can post whatever I like, share photos and drop comments if I wanted too. Amazing, right? As I advance my age, I realized some of the negative effects of getting so much engrossed with social media. My private life became... Read More

Honoring God’s Gift

On my way home, I overheard some group of girls sitting behind my spot talking about adulting concerns. I didn’t intend to listen to their private personal agendas but couldn’t help it because their voices were audible enough for the rest of the passengers to listen. (makin excuses for eavesdropping lol) One of girls was narrating about how difficult it was to work on a graveyard shift and was giving pieces of advice to one of their colleagues who seemed to look so unwell because of the lack of sleep. In a nutshell, she looked so haggardly overworked. Poor girl!... Read More

Witnessing Road Rage

I always choose to ride a public utility van every Saturday to avoid the long queue in waiting for a bus on my way home to the southern part of Cebu. It was a typical day for me following the same routine after my shift. Nothing’s really extraordinary not until I started my journey in heading home. I unexpectedly had to occupy the front seat as the only vacant slot available. I hate and I’m scared in sitting on that spot. Not all drivers are careful enough to observe road ethics. Anyway, how was the experience sitting in front? It... Read More

De-Stressing

I have so much appreciation for those who can afford to be patient enough while applying their creativeness in making DIY projects be it for business purposes or merely as a hobby. I do greatly support any of my friends who has the passion for making unique creations. One of my friends Chinkai the creator of Karaykays is into making personalized bracelets, necklace, pair of earrings and unique book marks. It’s quite amazing when she told me before how her side interest helped her in releasing her stresses. It allowed her to express her emotions with every intricate details applied... Read More

My Cry For Repentance

The rain was pouring so hard while the twilight fades to blackness. We were about to surrender our tired bodies to sleep when a line man from a local electric company called us to inform about some problems with our electric line. Our neighbor reported seeing visions of electrical discharge coming from our main line. Not expecting for such unfortunate event, we were told they would cut our line immediately for safety reasons. I understand the urgency of the situation as it may pose a real danger not just to us, but to the neighboring houses too. My concern was... Read More

Our Angel

It’s been three years for this month since we lost our supposed to be first baby at 12 weeks. It was the 4th day of December of 2014 when we had experienced the saddest part in our married life. The memory of it is impossible for me to forget. Every time this day of the year will come, I feel teary and gloomy thinking about our angel. We announced my pregnancy upon hearing the heartbeat during my second ultrasound thinking we were in the clear. I’ve shared my detailed struggles about the tragic event here. The day came when the heartbeat... Read More

For The Broken Hearted

“Mich, have you tried being broken hearted?” A question that totally caught my attention when a colleague of mine asked me this morning. I answered her question with a direct yes. It’s been a while, I should say when I had my heart broken before my path crossed with my husband. It’s a devastating pain which most of us can relate to, not unless you’re love story is as perfect as compared to a fairytale love. Being engaged in a romantic love is one of the sweetest feeling and can be incredibly mystical especially during the very first stage of... Read More

How To Keep Your Momentum To Be Positive

Recently, I’ve talked to one of my friends sharing her experience about nearly losing the will to continue fighting for her aim. Motivation is quite something that is not an easy task to maintain, I believe on that harsh reality. I couldn’t imagine the troubles that my friend was going through being confused of giving it for another try or totally forgetting about everything she had started. Motivation then is going to be the meat of this blog post. It’s difficult to keep your motivation when every fiber of your being is screaming that you’re ready to give in. When... Read More

Inclination To Writing

Today, I received a notebook from my sister as her gift. Yippee! This has always been my request from her whenever she’ll asked me on what I like to receive from her. I have so much fascination to paper products because of my inclination to write. When I was in grade school, I could remember collecting paper scented stationery. I used them in sending snail mail letters to my cousins and friends (crushes lol). Mobile Phones weren’t available during my childhood years but I am grateful for experiencing the old traditional method of communication. Generations of today are presented with several... Read More

Know My Worth( Employee Appreciation Week)

This was an amazing week for us as employees who are currently connected to a prestigious company. It’s our employee appreciation week. Wohoo! I love how my employer recognizes our contribution to the success of the business. I may not be able to mention the name of the business as part of the company’s policy. I’ve been working with the firm for almost 6 years now and I can’t think of any major experiences that caused so much dissatisfaction to me as an employee. Maybe, there were few instances when I was upset about some changes which affected me, but not... Read More
