Akyn’s Monthly Photos for His 1st Year

My Mama loves collecting family pictures and keeping them on a photo album. When I asked her about why she would spend her money to have those pictures printed, she told me that it will serve as our remembrance of our childhood. Those pictures will help us reminisce important occasions, family gatherings and other memories that we wouldn't want to forget. Now that I am starting to have my own family, I practiced the same hobby that my Mama loves to collect. I bought my own camera to capture those memories. I’ll be sharing with you my Akyn’s monthly pictures... Read More

Bloopers in 1,2,3

I had a good laugh yesterday with my friend who happens to be one of the managers in our department. Let’s just call her "Sexy Boss" as her nickname for this blog entry. We agreed to visit an appointment together after our regular shift. We passed by a fast food restaurant which offered almost 50% off of their regular price and we decided to give it a try. The only catch for their promotion was “NO SHARING OF FOOD ALLOWED and if you would decide to dine out the left over food, you had to pay an extra fee. I... Read More

When Things Didn’t Happen As Expected

It’s frustrating when things don’t turn out the way we hoped and imagined it to happen. Mon was expecting something to happen on his professional career that could have helped him achieve the skills he needed for his career advancement but unfortunately it was cancelled. Well, that’s life. There are things that we can’t control no matter how hard we try to make it happen, but how we respond to the situation will always depend on us and that's what matters most. Is it easy to let go and let the universe control over it? Of course not, but life... Read More

Easterrific Sunday 2017

My Easter Sunday started with a heavy rain followed by a terrible flood in going to the office. I tried different routes for me to arrive to my workplace but everything seemed to fail. I decided to head home and had informed my direct supervisor that I wouldn't be able to report to work for today. Who would want to report to work if you we're completely drenched by the rain and your shoes were soaked with muddy water? Anyway, let's focus on the positive event that happened today (April 16,2017). Last Thursday, Mon and I decided to let Akyn experience for... Read More

Part of Us That We Will Cherish Forever

Before I slept last night, I gave my husband a random question for him to reflect about our marriage. I love engaging in a meaningful conversation with him because I can sense that he always take my questions seriously and he provides honest answers too. I asked him about his insights and realization about how we are in the past as couples and how it affected our relationship in our married life. He paused for a moment, trying to organize his thoughts. He normally does that whenever I ask him something. This was his response: MON: I’ve realized that we... Read More

Socializing My Toddler

Mon and I planned it a week ago we will bring Akyn to a playhouse in one of the Malls in Cebu for the first time, for him to see the other kids playing. We wanted him to increase his social skills since he spends most of his time at home playing alone and seldom sees other children. Akyn is still a year and 3 months old with social skills which are not yet developed. When we brought him to the play house, he tended to engage mostly in a Parallel play. He played next to the other children without... Read More

Childhood Flashback

I was on my way to the office riding a public transport vehicle when the driver played a 90’s hit music. It felt so refreshing listening to my childhood music genres. When I passed by the food stalls near where our office is located, I heard 90’s love songs too. It’s not Thursday yet to do throwback, but I guess this day wants me to reminisce my childhood memories. There is a huge difference if we will compare the 90’s generation to the new generation of today, where computers and highly powered gadgets are available in the market. I would... Read More

Hilariously Embarrassing Moment

A close pretty babe of mine, I’m not going to mention her name as I promised to her, asked me if I could go with her last Saturday to go window shopping. She’s planning to purchase a new phone but couldn’t decide yet what model she wanted to buy for herself. I didn’t hesitate to go with her since my Saturday schedule was vacant and I love spending time with her too. When we arrived to one of the Cellphone Shops in town, we were amazed with the number of customers who were also checking the latest mobile phone models.... Read More

How Thoughtful Are You?

Pasalubong is a Filipino term which means a gift from someone returning from a trip. It brings excitement and happiness to us while waiting for our love ones to arrive home safely. This is one thing that I am excited to receive from Mon whenever he is away from home for a long travel or even if he is just away from his work office. I’m like a 7 year old child at heart eagerly waiting for him to come home. Mon usually arrives home late from work. Sometimes, both Akyn and Me are already sleeping when he arrives. He... Read More

A Gift Of True Friendship”Surprise Baby Shower”

A gift of true friendship is hard to find. If you're one of the lucky stars to have come across such real type of bond, treasure them and make them last for a lifetime. I am forever thankful for having true friends who made me feel special and loved. I may not have that big circle of friends but I am definitely sure I have those guys with genuine heart. I'll share to you my surprise Baby Shower last 2015 which was organized by my friends. Two of my closest friends invited me to have a girls' day out with them when... Read More

Peculiar Experience From 2 Different Personalities

I just had one of the most peculiar days at work today. I was able to assist two clients with two opposite personalities. My first client was an irritated customer who was so upset for getting an incorrect information, when he last asked the bank about his concern last Friday. He sounded irate and was even calling unpleasant names to the previous employee who assisted him. I am proud of myself for not being emotionally swayed by the customer’s frustrations. I guess, I am now learning how to choose my battles wisely. This is how the conversation went with my first... Read More

Stop The Blame Game

I can now relate to the hassle that parents are experiencing in bringing their active toddlers inside the church. I felt pity for Mon who was the one looking after Akyn when we attended the mass yesterday. Akyn couldn’t sit still in one place. Five minutes were long enough to make him behave. His Dad had no choice but to give in to his demands to walk and brought him outside or else he would make a scene while the mass was on going [caption id="attachment_1129" align="alignnone" width="2592"] Daddy with Akyn attending Sunday's Mass[/caption] I was amazed with Mon, he... Rules For A Happy Marriage

One of our wedding gifts that I like most is this wooden wall frame with a meaningful message about keeping the married life strong. This was given to me by my college friend. Let me share you a picture of it. Wedding is a one day happy celebration of the formal union between lovers taking their vow in front of God, but after the ceremony it's when the real married life begins. Marriage isn't just about the honeymoon stage. It can't be compared to the fairytale stories in books we thought to be real when we were kids. Marriage needs to be fed by the couples... Read More

My Endless Lists of Akyn’s Antics

I have a special talent I want to share with you. It’s a talent most mothers are capable of doing. Are you interested to know about my hidden expertise? I have the capability of going out of the building where I work in less than 5 minutes after my scheduled log out time from my shift. How awesome is that? I come to the office on time and I also go out of the office on the dot. I am always itching to go home to spend time with my baby. Who wouldn’t have that restless desire to head home... Read More

When I Crushed His Soul

We had our first team meeting last week in the office with our new teammates for our new schedules. I am thankful that I still got the same schedule that I had last year which makes it easier for me to plan my vacation leaves. I just hope that I will still retain my current schedule for the next 6 months. Change is the only thing that is constant in our line of business and I have learned to adjust to it. Oh, come on who wouldn’t be able to adapt to it if you love your job, right? (sanguine mood) One... Read More

A Grateful Heart

“Guys system is down.” I am on a state of complete happiness whenever I could hear my manager blasting this news to us. This would mean I could rest my voice while my mind and my fingers are working typing this blog entry. I am thankful that once in a blue moon, this rare scenario happens at work giving me an ample time to relax a bit. This is one of the simplest things that deserves my gratitude. Exercising gratitude was not my thing when I was younger. When I received something from someone like a gift or a favor, I... Read More
