UK Celebrates Mother’s Day 23

UK celebrated the Mother's Day yesterday which was different from the month we usually celebrate in the Philippines. Back home, we follow the American dates, celebrating Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May. Whatever month it is celebrated, it still aims the same thing and that's to appreciate the hard work with love given to us by all the mothers in the world.šŸ˜ How did you celebrate your special day Pretty Mommas? For me, I had a blast. I asked Mon if he would be more than glad to let me choose the place to spend it. Without much... Read More

Life Update First Q 2023

The first quarter of 2023 is almost finished. How fast the days went! I've also had reached my fourth year of stay in this country. Yay! Happy fourth to us as an immigrant. Is it a big deal surviving this long to stay in a country with completely different culture from us? Of course, it ain't easy adapting to everything new. Coming here with only a suitcase full of clothes leaving everything we've started back home because we wanted change to happen to our professional growth is something I will always be thankful I decided to take the risk. It... Read More

January Home Decor

Went to one of the shops with my boy after his class and one of the store clerk asked, "Are you Espanyol?" Responded with a brief answer, "I am not Spanish!". He continued, "Are you Nihao, then?" I am not certain if I should laugh with the question or get irritated with it because nihao isn't even a nationality at all. I took my change from what I bought, told him, "I AM A FILIPINO!'' I've been in this country for almost four years now and yet, I still feel Filipinos are part of the invisible group with little information... Read More

This Brand New Year

Happy New Year everyone. A long overdue post for this brand new calendar again. Haven't sat down and contemplated for a new post because this Momma was busy savoring my tranquility doing nothing at home during off. Sometimes slowing down a bit, chilling out with a warm drink and not worrying of finishing any task to do is a much needed rest for us Mommas on the go, don't you think? This is our 2023 family photo and is of course already printed to be added to my photo album. Old school as this say in storing memorable pictures but... Read More

In Liverpool Day 2

As planned, here's the second part of our trip to Liverpool. Traveling doesn't only mean ticking the box of accomplished places we've visited but it's our own way of gaining our energy back from the stressful adulting life. So thankful to my friends' suggestions as to where to visit next here in the UK. Everyday is an opportunity to discover more about this county. I'm always excited to visit new places with my family especially if I know shopping is very much recommended to the nearby big shops of the area. LOLšŸ˜ I'll start my blog with my travel OOTD.... My Birthday in Liverpool Day 1

I was contemplating on how would I celebrate my birthday few weeks ago and Mon said to me, "Celebrate it the way you wanted!" Well, that would mean another family travel is going to happen because my top likes on the list on special event is really to travel and shop with my family. I love to spend our alone time together in going to places we've never been to. New Mobile Legends Playmate

I was in the other room when I heard Mon and Akyn talking like they were planning an attack to someone's base. When I checked them on what made them so busy and noisyšŸ˜’,they were actually playing an online game called Mobile Legends. A satisfying view seeing Mon finally got his little playmate for his online gaming obsession. "Just follow my lead Akyn when I say you use your power then attack!" "Daddy an enemy has been slain!" I can't relate to the enjoynment of what they were both up to. I tried playing once with Akyn but I always... Read More

Guilt Free York Trip

Because it's half term, we made it sure to bring Akyn to a trip even for just a day. We've been thinking of going somewhere near and York won the list of places to visit. We had visited York several times but not to the York Designer Outlet. It was not only Akyn who was excited but this Momma has been very eager to step in the said store. I'm almost four years here in the UK but I didn't had the chance to come here. First time, ey? Let's start with the OOTD. An important part of every ladies'... Read More

Fall Season Pumpkin Picking

I've finished this book, The Point of Retreat which is the second sequel of CoHo's book entitled Slammed. It was definitely another legend she has created to continue the love story of Will and Layken. I'm on the third book now called This Girl. I'm crossing my finger I'll also fall in love with her creation again. I got hooked with the first book where she introduced about an activity called poetry slam in the story where a group of young people gather together in a club to courageously recite their own made poems expressing their deepest emotions of something.... Combating Stress

Have you heard an old joke about Santa Claus asking a staff nurse specific Christmas wish? The nurse requested for a dragon and then Santa told her off to be realistic. So she asked instead for a fully staffed ward everytime she goes to work. Was her wish granted do you think? Santa eventually asked what color she would like for her dragon! This joke never grows old for me. I wonder when will it ever have enough people to share the workload in the hospital. If you're reading this, come on guys apply for a nursing job now. It's... Kitchen Renovation Deca Home

As early as nine in the morning, I received a phone call from a local number. I thought it was a genuinely important call since the area code showing didn't seem like a telemarketing calls with sales agent offering all sorts of products I'm not really interested. When I answered the phone, an automated message recording greeted me threatening me about tax evasion case filed againts me by the Home office. I've heard loads of cases of people falling to this kind of trick. Please be informed that Home office will never call to inform us of any tax discrepancy... Read More

The Deep

A weekend off for me means an instant family activity for the three of us. May it planned or spontaneous one, there isn't a boring day to spend when everyone is in the house. I'd like to take advantage of Akyn's summer off from school to let him freely explore places we've never been to or do activities we'll really have fun doing together. Last weekend we went to the Deep in hull. Please click here to view more about the place. We've been here in Hull for more than there years but it was only this year that we've... Read More

Filey Beach

I took a quick rest after sorting out all our travel stuff and putting them back to where they needed to be at home. Yes, we've just arrived from our summer holiday and I can't wait for tomorrow to start blogging about it. So, I started my part one of the travel blog now. We've promised Akyn a holiday prize after he won his piano competition in Hornsea last July. We shouldn't break a promise to our child especially if it's a gift for something he worked hard to earn it. He requested to visit London again for the nth... Read More

Book Hoarder

Few weeks ago, we went to East Park Woodford Leisure Centre swimming pool to try it for the first time. I had no intentions of swimming at all because first, I got no swimming suit and second I don't know how to swim. Bummer! Thank you Ate Susan for letting me borrow a swimwear. I'm starting to browse online to get my own swimming attire to use every summer. I should have done this months ago.šŸ˜‚LOL That's us fresh from the pool. East Park is becoming a frequent destination for us to spend our weekends. Apart from it's a huge... Read More

Happy A Year Anniversary UK Home

This photo below is a year old as of today. We took this shot exactly the date when we moved in, the twenty third of July, our blissful summer. In the middle of packing and moving stuff from our rented place to our permanent home, we took this moment to smile, appreciate the biggest gift bestowed upon us and pose for a memorable picture to treasure forever. Who would have thought this blessing would come early? As a new immigrant from this country, we felt everything was moving so fast in its most beautiful way. I've got my family to... Read More

London Fourth Day

Finally, the last bit of our London trip is completed. I've been procastinating this morning as to when I'm going to sit and start writing for today's post because I'm ahmmmmm too lazy to get up on a Monday morning. We all have those sluggish days, don't we? It's when the bed is to comfy to let go of the duvet covers whilst enjoying the warmth and softness of the bed. Adulting struggle is real Pretty Mommas. I have also finished reading a book written by Taylor Jenkins Reid whilst in bed. The book was such a gem. I'll blog... Read More
