The Realization

Staying home has never been boring at all to me now that my boys are finally here. There are just so many things to do at home. It's really up to your creativeness on how you make each moment seem interesting pretty mommas. First thing to finish in my to do list for today is to publish a post for my blog. An overdue post that has not been published for a couple of weeks now. Migrating to a new country also equates to loads of adjustments  and things to accomplish as a new settler. Had to guide my boys... Read More

First Long Holiday

A month has passed before I managed to create another post for my Akynfullhouse. What made me busy this past few weeks? Still felt elated with my four weeks vacation in going to the Philippines, my home. Yay! It took me almost a year before finally having the chance to spend time with my family. A challenge not everyone can surpass of being away for this long, isn't it true? Quite worried at first about my flight because of too many concerns going on. First, the worry about the current COVID-19. I'm praying so hard this world health concern would... Read More

London Shopping

I would say so much was going on today making it hard for me to absorb everything, really. First, I had to cancel my flight I've been excited to go since October of last year because of the 2019 Novel Corona virus. My lay over is in Hong Kong which would mean all flights either connecting or directly coming from Hong Kong passengers shall be placed under a quarantine in Cebu, my expected place of arrival. I can't afford to be part of that group for fourteen days. Each day of my vacation means so much for an overseas worker.... Read More

Grimsby

Because it is my rest day I've already made plans on how to spend it two days before I went off on duty. Isn't it obvious how much I am looking forward to chill out a bit? You know it when we are on the adulting phase already because we are so much excited to be leaving from work on time not because we got some night gigs to attend to. Rather, we wanted to spend a peaceful "ME TIME" with no stress, no rush just us enjoying what we love. So what's up for today? First things first, decided... Read More

DIY Wall Frame

Couldn't believe I've spent the whole day in bed after my consecutive night shifts! I must be very exhausted I should say. But to be honest, although it is true that nursing is a demanding job asking so much from our energy, I still feel excited everyday in going to work merely because it's not boring. I love it when it's busy and you're trying to compete with the time to finish all your errands as it makes the shift pass without noticing it. While having my dinner in our staff room a doctor asked me,"How do you manage to... Read More

My Little Superman

Rest days would also mean a video call day for my Akyn. A routine common to mommas working as an overseas nurse. I wouldn't think it unfortunate to be away because I certainly know this is just temporary. I'd rather consider this journey as a blessing making way for my dreams to come into reality. Many desired to be here but only few are determined to face the struggles to be a UK nurse. To make the story short, so here I am now doing my role as a mum abroad for my boy during my day off. Something amazing... Read More

Brand New Calendar Flip

I've just had at least four hours of sleep after my two straight night shifts. I survived! Tomorrow I will be back to being a normal human being again reporting to work on a day schedule. Honestly, I would prefer to be on a graveyard shift when on duty because I could organize my task more with lesser interruptions, no doctor's order not unless in emergency cases, less people who'll keep on misplacing all your patients'documents. It's one of my pet peeves when someone uses my stuff and wouldn't return it as how it was  before borrowing it. I don't... Read More

A Little Twist

The world is enjoying the peaceful night to rest their tired body while the chatty me is up to write on something before my thoughts will get distracted. How was your Christmas celebration? I had a different kind of Christmas this year. I would say it's kind of something both joyful and a little sad with a mixture of an unexpected drama. A bit sad because it's my first Christmas to be away from my family. But at the same time, I'm happily enjoying the fruits of my labor to make my dream come into a reality in pursuing my... London Day One Escapade

I got quite a few post to make for this month and all of them are still pending for completion. Maybe this cold weather is making my writing mode slower than it used to be. Looking forward for the warmer season or should I say excited to go home to my tropical country in a couple of calendar flips from now. Yay! See you Cebu. This post is the continuation of my previous post of our London do-it-your-own tour. After all the troubles of our accommodation has been settled we started our trip right away. It felt like we needed... Read More

Airbnb To The Rescue-London Day 1

As early as one in the morning we already started preparing ourselves for our morning travel to London. We chose this so we can maximize our time in visiting all our target places to view within the short duration of our time off from the reality. You know what pretty mommas, I've proven to myself after my trip that having a break from everyday work would help us recharge our tired selves. We should do this often, I greatly suggest. (wink). Stop being too workaholic Mich! How was the travel during the wee hours? Surely bitterly cold with only the... Read More

Nottingham First Travel Experience

In my nine months of stay here I've never tried travelling alone out from Hull simply because I felt terrified in going to new places without anyone else with me. What if I'll get lost and wouldn't find my way home? What if something bad will happen and nobody's there to help me? What if, what if, what if... Too many apprehensions of conquering my fear to explore the world out there. What exactly pushed me to try the feeling of a solo traveler? Decided to face my fright because of my desire to do something memorable for my first... Read More

Miss Independent

This month was welcomed with prolonged spell of wet weather. Ugrrh! I don't like it when I am about to go on duty because it makes me feel so lazy to get my beautiful behind out of bed. Waking up to work early in the morning is like a love and hate relationship for me. I do love reporting on duty but I super dislike waking up early on a freezing morning. My muscles are shaking uncontrollably to maximize my body heat left from snuggling comfortably under my thick duvet. I am not a morning person. I preferably function during... Read More

Paint It Own It

We are heading to almost half of November and in about six to five weeks Christmas is coming. I am deeply amazed on how fast the calendar flips everyday. Haven't even noticed it. Has anything changed in our lives from January up to the current date, be it a drastic difference or a little deviation from the normal life we have? There must be, right? If there's none, consider it alarming to waste the entire year of doing nothing. Dreams will never get realized when no effort is done to make it into a reality. The weather here is getting... Collections of Fear

Wondered how the 31st of October is celebrated here. Will there be fancy costumes of children knocking door to door asking for sweets? Shall I see jack o'lantern just like in American type of Halloween celebration? Excited to tell you, I did witness all of these in my DREAMS because I was asleep all day coming from a night shift duty. Looser! This is one of my favorite time of the year for there will be lots of horror films to watch on TV starting from the news segment featuring real ghost stories to the midnight program. I love horror... Hull Fair

One of the best places to visit when you wanted to relieve stress is to pay round to see a theme park. It's suitable for both kids and to us who are still a child at heart. 😄 It's my first time to experience what the locals call as Hull Fair. A yearly tradition of a travelling funfair coming to Kingston upon Hull with lots of rides, games, food and souvenirs to enjoy. God thank you! I surely had a good time visiting it for about three times in its one week of stay here together with different set of... Read More

It’s Cold

It's still autumn here but the coldness of the weather feels like winter. This chilly season never fails to give me a morning struggle to go out of bed especially when I am scheduled to report on duty and I have to convince my bum to get up but I refused to because the weather is so conducive for a bedbound mode with Glassgow Coma Scale of three. The struggle is real pretty mommas! 😪 I'm always having a headache early in the morning in going to work because I usually go out of the house with wet hair which... Read More
